twitter vs. face-to-face

As of lately I have been infatuated with "connecting" with people via the web using such avenues as Twitter, Facebook and blogging. Not that any of these techniques are bad but they need not to be the only source of connection. Tonight I was reminded the importance of actually connecting with people, face to face. One of my good friends invited me and my wife to hang out with some people that we attend church with and I must say it was quite refreshing. For the first time in a while I was able to put down my Crackberry and enjoy the company of people. It was a great reminder as to why we desire to stay connected through media of sorts. The people behind the tweets are what make social-networking so important. We must stay conscious though of the fact that social-networking via Twitter shouldn't be our only source of connection. So for everyone that thoroughly enjoys these new fads just like me, know that it's ok, but don't neglect your human desire to actually connect with humans face to face! We as people were created for community and its important to not neglect that need!
